Matsunoya Lists "Double Loin Pork Fried Steak Set Meal" That Was Never Announced

Matsuya Foods Co., Ltd. will launch three items, including the “Rib” Loin Pork Fried Steak Set Meal w/ Back Fat Ginger Sauce, at its tonkatsu chain Matsunoya from 15:00 on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The company disclosed the launch in an official notice dated September 25. All three are priced at 1,090 yen (tax included), and eligible stores are described as “Matsunoya locations nationwide, excluding some stores.”

The set meals pair pork — aged chilled pork coated in dusting flour and deep-fried — with a rich sauce built on the depth of back fat and the aroma of ginger, plus Mayonnaise. The official notice states the items will be “on sale again this year,” making clear that this is a return of existing menu items. As of the announcement, none of the three appear on the menu listings of the official website.

The single-item set meal sits at the same price as the Platter Set Meals that add a Pork Loin Cutlet or Karaage. Dine-in and takeout prices are identical including tax, and Miso Soup carries a separate charge on takeout orders. In the notice image, all three items are shown with Shredded Cabbage, Mayonnaise, Rice and Miso Soup. On the two platters, a Pork Loin Cutlet or three pieces of Karaage sit alongside the sauce-covered pork.

100 yen above last year’s 990 yen, with the cut now named

The same Pork Fried Steak Set Meal w/ Back Fat Ginger Sauce was also announced in an official notice dated October 17, 2025, going on sale at 15:00 on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, with all three items priced at 990 yen. This time all three are 1,090 yen, 100 yen higher. Some of the item names have been rewritten as well.
