Matsunoya’s official X account announced a coupon just after 13:00 on October 7, 2026, valid from 15:00 the same day. The post says Matsunoya is “currently holding the ‘Shinmai Fair’ for a limited time,” and adds, “We want everyone to eat their fill of delicious new-harvest rice, so we carefully selected menu items that go well with rice and prepared them at bargain prices!” The attached flyer lists the four eligible items and their discounted prices, with the reductions split into two tiers: 300 yen and 200 yen.
Four Set Meals Covered, Discounts in Two Tiers
| Item | Regular Price | After Discount | Discount |
|---|---|---|---|
| PorkLoinCutlet w/ Tomato sauce Set meal | 990 yen | 690 yen | 300 yen |
| Pork Loin Cutlet w/ Tomato Sauce & Cheese Set Meal | 1,190 yen | 890 yen | 300 yen |
| PorkLoinCutlet w/ Grated Radish | 790 yen | 590 yen | 200 yen |
| PorkLoinCutlet w/ Miso Sauce | 790 yen | 590 yen | 200 yen |
The regular prices printed on the flyer match, for all four items, the prices listed on the official website menu as of October 7. The flyer’s tagline is “Put a pork loin cutlet on your rice — miso works, grated radish works!”, pushing the pairing with rice to the front.
The 300-Yen Discount Matches the Gap Between the Single Item and the Set Meal
The official website menu lists the main-dish-only “PorkLoinCutlet w/ Tomato sauce” at 690 yen and “Pork Loin Cutlet w/ Tomato Sauce & Cheese” at 890 yen. With the coupon applied, the set meal prices land at exactly the same figures as those two items.
For the two items with a 200-yen discount, the post-discount 590 yen comes in 100 yen below the 690 yen of the “PorkLoinCutlet.”

Using It Means the 2D Code at the Ticket Machine
The flyer states, with an arrow, “First, hold this 2D code up to the ticket machine’s 2D code reader.” On eligible locations, the top of the flyer reads “Can also be used at stores co-located with Matsuya,” and the bottom reads “Can be used at all Matsunoya stores, except some locations.”
On the end date, the flyer says only “*This campaign may end without prior notice,” and neither the post nor the flyer gives a specific date.

At 15:00 on October 7, Another Offer Also Kicks In
The previous X Coupon, “Aki no Donburi Matsuri,” ended at 15:00 on September 30. The Kaisen Sozai Fair that started right afterward is still running, and according to an October 6 post, from 15:00 on October 7 the same prices apply at the ticket machine without holding up a 2D code. The Shinmai Fair coupon begins at that same 15:00 on October 7, overlapping with it.
Another rice-related initiative appeared on September 30 as well. The “Shinmai Okawari Muryo Fair,” which makes dine-in rice refills free with a set meal order, started at 15:00 that day; the difference is that it covers refills rather than a discount.
Update: Matsuben Net and Point Awards Are Excluded
At 13:55 on October 7, the official X account posted the same coupon announcement again, adding at the top a note that the 13:04 post did not have: “*Please note that this coupon cannot be used without holding up the 2D code. It is also excluded from Matsuben Net and from point awards. We apologize and ask for your understanding.”
Buying at the discounted prices requires having the 2D code read at the ticket machine, so it does not apply on Matsuben Net, the advance-order service for takeout. No points are awarded either.
The Sozai Fair that also kicks in at 15:00 on October 7 is handled differently: the October 6 post said of the Sozai Fair that “the same prices apply in the Matsuya Foods app.” Two initiatives start at the same moment, but the 2D code requirement runs the opposite way.
A word from our Matsunoya novice
Hmm. Cheaper, but no points. One perk at a time, then.
